Awards and Recognition for Oliver Aldort
2005
Oliver will be recorded in a live concert at Jordan Hall, Boston on
October 2, 2005. The program will be aired on public radio stations across the
country a couple of months later.
Greater Victoria Music Festival, Canada:
Top winner of all the string instruments - one winner only, all ages
including young adults: Chamber Music Celebration Award. As a winner Oliver will be performing in Victoria, BC on November 20th. He will play the full Schubert Arpeggioni sonata as part of the ceremony during which he will receive the award.
Cello: Two top awards:
1) Outstanding string performer - shows great promise.
2) Adjudicatore's choice of the most outstanding achievement by a young
performer.
Piano: First place in piano senior French music competition
Oliver was featured as a guest on the program Northwest Afternoon on Komo TV in Seattle where he performed on the cello for a live audience. Here is shown with other child prodigies from the Northwest.

2004
The Greater Victoria Peforming Arts Festival awarded Oliver the first place in the senior upper most division in the piano concerto competition. He played one of Mozart's most difficult virtuoso piano concertos, #22 in E flat major, K482. The other competitors were mostly older teens who have ten years of study behind them. Oliver took part in five divisions. The concerto is the top, the most challenging and the most difficult of all the piano division competitions. Oliver also won the Top Junior Cello award and the Adjudicator's Choice for Outstanding Technical Achievement by a Young Performer.
